Roadworks, kerbs, gravel
Designation:
Reclaimed or repurposed blue stone pavers with a sawn top surface. This is considered recycling as the product undergoes transformation. Other names: Petit Granit or Crinoidal Limestone
Origin:
Belgium, Soignies, Ourthe-Amblève, and Bocq basins, provinces of Hainaut, Liège, and Namur.
Description:
Compact crinoidal limestone with a grey-blue hue.
Appearance:
Whether cleaved or patinated, the stone exhibits color variations depending on the size of the crinoid remnants and the abundance of the binder. The stone contains white veins and fossils. The fossils give fresh breaks sparkling facets in the light. Crinoids, corals, and shells appear light against a dark background, varying from light gray to black, including a bluish range, depending on the finish. The stone lightens when exposed to weathering due to superficial leaching of intercalated carbon.
The general appearance and colors may vary depending on the batch.
Applications:
Pavers and edgings for road, park, and garden landscaping
Tolerance applicable from the limits of the nominal dimension ranges (min. and max.): 1 cm
